The West Virginia Water Research Institute (WVWRI) is requesting proposals for research expected to be funded September 1, 2021 for a period of 1 to 3 years. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Department of the Interior, will sponsor the research. $3,500,000 in estimated total funding is available through the USGS Water Resources Research Act Program as described in the following three announcements. This competitive grant program focuses on water problems and issues of regional or interstate nature. Thus, proposals with regional partnerships are highly encouraged.

Staff Positions

The Department of RES Water Research Institute with West Virginia University Research Corporation is seeking applications for an Outreach and Education Coordinator. The incumbent will assist the Brownfields Director with Northern WV Brownfields Assistance Center and WV Water Research Institute (WVWRI) outreach activities. This includes conference organization and coordination, developing outreach materials, and coordinating tasks and activities associated with research projects. The incumbent provides program, as well as direct internal and external client support services, independently responds to inquiries, using organization policies and procedures resolves matters of low to moderate complexity. Responsibilities require some judgment, resourcefulness and originality, but diverse guides and precedents are usually available to apply or adapt to the circumstances. Work effort has considerable impact on client services, programs, and project image, with potential legal liabilities.
